"The farmers are finally getting what they deserve. They are finally getting money."

In 2008, Towanda had only a handful of natural gas wells; now it has more than 900. And more are being drilled each day. This means that every day hundreds of workers need to eat. Come to the Harkness Café and most likely Ashley will remember your name and what you like. Coffee or a cold drink will arrive before you ask. Whether it is stopping in for a chat, or rushing back to the rigs, Harkness Cafe, keeps people full and happy. By 5 a.m., the busiest place is where roughnecks try and clean up before eating breakfast cooked by Ashley's dad.
